Meet Peter our new chef
Peter Keys has joined the Jenkins & Son team as our Chef to take on all cooking of our current dishes and develop new ready-made dishes and bakes. Peter will also be working with Darren and the team in the shop so you’ll get plenty of opportunity to meet him.
Peter is a very experienced chef who has been working in restaurants since he was a nipper, learning the art from his chef father, who trained in Switzerland. Peter’s career includes five years as Head Chef at Deal’s own Dunkerleys and managing the production kitchen for Canterbury restaurant, Ambrette.
“I’m inspired by the different times of the year and love working with seasonal ingredients, sourced as locally and sustainably as possible,” says Peter. “It’s so exciting to be developing new ready-made dishes so our customers can enjoy Jenkins & Son’s fabulous array of fish and seafood without slaving over their stoves.
“I love the flavours of all parts of the world especially Italy, France and India and love playing with herbs and spices to bring depth of flavour to my dishes,” he continues.
